A markerplace for over 250 years, Winchester VA cherishes its heritage. You'll find a wealth of history in Old Town Winchester, all tucked into about ten square blocks of downtown and just waiting to rediscovered. One a Shawnee campground, the area was settled by Pennsylvania Quakers in 1732. Winchester, the first city west of the Blue Ridge Mountians, was officially founded in 1744 by Colonel James Wood, who laid it out and name it after his birthplace in England. George Washington, a surveyor for Thomas, Lord Fairfax, had an office in Winchester from 1755-56 and elected to his first political office in the House of Burgesses by the people of Winchester and Fredrick County. During the Civil War Winchester changed hands more than 70 times and five battles were fought in and around the area.

It sits at the end of a private road, with specatular views of the river, valley, and mountains. Franley Farms is a working farm, with over 160 acres of land. The secluded river access provides a real fisherman's paradise, while the 4,000 + sq.ft. lodge provides all the comforts of home, with the peace and quiet of the country. Looking west there are mountains that continue all the way to West Virginia.

Our Shenandoah County Cabin Rental sits on 70 acres with 1/4 mile frontage on the historic Shenandoah River. Built in the architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright, this luxury apartment contains 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and a "Great Room" featuring a big screen TV, 5 full size arcade games, a huge working fireplace,  and fusball, billiard, air hockey/Ping Pong and Poker tables. The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia

Shenandoah National Park lies astride a beautiful section of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which form the eastern rampart of the Appalachian Mountains between Pennsylvania and Georgia. The Shenandoah River flows through the valley to the west, with Massanutten Mountain, 40 miles long, standing between the river's north and south forks. Skyline Drive, a 105-mile road that winds along the crest of the mountains through the length of the park, provides vistas of the spectacular landscape to east and west. more info
